Decisions made at the local level can affect your health at least as much as those made by state and federal government. That’s why we created a site that informs you about where Pueblo City Council candidates stand and enables you to encourage these candidates to make more progress on health issues. We drafted five questions regarding health issues likely to come before the City Council within the next two years, and invited candidates to respond to each question in 200 words or less. We also developed a petition statement that lets candidates know that Pueblo voters care about these issues.

Here’s how it works:

  1. If you don’t know it already, find your city council district.
  2. Read candidate responses after selecting your desired office/district.
  3. Vote!

After the election, our work continues. We will partner with Pueblo residents and institutions to continue to inform Pueblo elected officials about these issues and hold them accountable to campaign promises. Together, we will make Pueblo healthier.

Healthier Colorado is the creator of this site and broader campaign. We are a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring that the voices of all Coloradans are heard by our public officials on issues concerning health.
